Derek is widely known in the industry as both a prolific soundtrack composer, orchestrator and session keyboard player. He was educated at Christ’s Hospital, then at London College of Music under Dr Lloyd Webber, studying organ, composition and orchestration. He then moved to freelance studio work, particularly films and TV. He is a specialist in synthesisers/music technology.
