Biog
Jan Hendrickse is a sound artist, composer and instrumentalist. He is currently ACME studios’ Tower Hamlets artist in residence and a Sound and Music shortlisted composer. He has specialist knowledge of woodwind traditions around the world, and plays a wide range of African, near Eastern and far-Eastern wind instruments. As a studio musician he has featured on many soundtracks including The Lord of The Rings trilogy, Apocalypto, The passion of the Christ, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Beloved, The Kingdom of Heaven.

Presenting
Presenter of the BBC’s ‘The Musical Nomad’. This was an interactive web-cast journey through central Asia. The team produced a daily diary on the BBC website, and responded to questions from the audience by email. The journey was a 3,500 mile route through Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, researching traditional music in the newly independent states.
